At Paintersworld, you can purchase various acrylic paints in cans or tubes. With these painting mediums, made with the same resin binder as acrylic paint, you can:
Artists Acrylic Colour and Galeria acrylic paint each have their own range of acrylic mediums. However, both types can be used together in the same work and offer, in addition to versatility and stability, the reliable quality you can expect from Winsor & Newton.
Winton Oil Paint
Winton is a traditional range of oil paints made from reasonably priced pigments, intended for students and beginner artists or advanced painters who use larger quantities of paint and wish to keep costs down.
The combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern paint technology has resulted in a range of 47 carefully selected colors of Winton Oil Colours, oil paint of excellent quality.
Each Winton oil paint color has, like each Artists’ oil paint color, its own formula, allowing the natural properties of each pigment to be fully realized and ensuring the paint's stability.
Pigment Content/Color Strength
A high pigment content ensures good opacity and color strength. Although Winton cannot match the pigment content of Artists’ oil paints, it is a much higher-quality range than many other ‘artists’ quality’ ranges.
The affordable price is achieved by opting for reasonably priced pigments instead of lowering the pigment content to an unacceptable level. The formula, production process, and quality control of Winsor & Newton guarantee an absolutely excellent product.
Single Pigments
Where possible, we use a single pigment for each color. Besides color strength, single pigments already provide a broad color spectrum on their own, and when mixed, they give cleaner, brighter mixtures and an endless number of color tones.
This is especially important for violet, green, and orange hues. 'Secondary' colors from single pigments significantly broaden the artist’s spectrum.
Viscosity/Consistency
The Winton range is more consistent in texture than Artists’ oil paint, and the paint is slightly stiffer. Brush and palette knife strokes remain excellent.
